Of course we had many campfires. The kids are old enough now that they like to try and build their own fire. And we had to have a few smores also.
It was a wonderful place to ride bikes. Our kids love to ride their bikes everywhere...which is cheap, easy entertainment...so we are all for that!!
We went Saturday to Hanging Rock State Park. We couldn't have chosen better weather for the day...it was absolutely beautiful!! We went on two mini-hikes to see two different waterfalls (so gorgeous). Then, we hiked up to Hanging Rock. I think we should have done the hardest hike first and got it over with, but we chose the opposite approach...start small and build on that...and momma was pooped about half way up the last hike. But, we just marveled at God's creation. Bobby had talked to the kids that morning in devotions about how the heavens declare the glory of God...how true it is. We can do nothing but praise Him for His creation.
At the start of the hike all the kids had found a walking stick...kind of a tradition for us. (not sure why but they like to have a stick when walking) Of course, most of them loose the sticks somewhere during the hike, but Caleb is usually the one that keeps his all the way to the end.
