Road Trip

Well, I don't think we will classify what we are about to do as a road trip. I'd say more of a long journey. We are leaving tomorrow to drive to upstate New York (a rather long drive...13ish hours). We'll be driving thru the night Wednesday night and hopefully arrive Thursday morning. Then we'll be venturing back home Sunday--a quick whirl-wind tour. All of Bobby's immediate family will be going to visit with family up there. He has a couple of uncles that are not in good health. Uncle Arnold has cancer and is pretty much bedridden now. They have called Hospice in and now we pray that the Lord will take him in His time and ease his pain. We are also praying for his Uncle Rink. Although we are looking forward to seeing everyone, it is kind of bitter sweet knowing this will most likely be the last time we see some of them. Please pray for them and for us as we minister to them. Pray that we can be a blessing to the family. Also pray for us as we travel that the Lord will give us safety. The last time we drove to NY we only had two kids (Caleb was 3 and Micah was 1), so this will be an adventure to say the least. The kids are really looking forward to it, but I don't think they realize just how long it will take. On the way there, they will hopefully sleep, and we have a large assortment of dvds, games, coloring items, etc. to entertain in between. We are looking forward to a fun time visiting with everyone. Thankfully, we can keep in touch a little thru facebook, but it is so much better in person! Thanks in advance for your prayers!

I will be praying, Kelly. A bittersweet trip, it seems. Be safe and enjoy the time with family.
