Words can't describe how proud we all are that Bobby received a promotion from the police department to Seargant. He has worked very hard during his 13 years at the police department, and has risen in the ranks at a good pace. He did his time on the line, moved up to general detective, moved up to homicide detective, and now has moved up again. Last year he put in for seargant and started the process (tests/interviews). I remember him spending countless hours studying for the test. After the test they made a cut, and he survived. That's good and all, but that isn't the finish line. Then he went thru the next phase which was interviews. The police department had three rounds of promotions (if my memory serves me correct) within the past year. Bobby didn't make the first two, and honestly was bummed. But on the last & final phase, he got the wonderful call from his Chief. Looking back, he is thankful he didn't make it the first or second go round. Because he would of missed out on the big case he had that made him travel to Texas (see...God's timing is perfect).
His promotional ceremony was on Tuesday. Since it was such a big deal, we got the kids out of school and headed over to Raleigh to root him on. Most of his family came in support too.
And now I'm thrilled to finally say that my man is Sgt R.F. LaTour!!
