Labor Day Camping

Our family went on a little camping trip during Labor Day...kindof a 3 day mini-vacation. It was a nice break from the reality of life. Of course the trip consisted of our usual walking, bike riding, fishing, swimming, camp fires, smores, and lots of fun in between. I'm thankful we are able to do these kind of things as a family...now we've got to sucker some families to go along with us for the fun!!

Building sand castles...

Gotta roast some hotdogs by the fire!!

Fishing, Fishing, and more Fishing...

Yummy smores!!!

Caleb brought his library book along. He has a book report coming up, so he spent some time reading by the fire...and no, mom didn't make him do it!!

Needless to say, the dogs enjoyed themselves. The kids told everyone this was Tiggers first vacation. And they were pooped from all the walking and swimming....the animals may need a vacation from their vacation.

There were clams everywhere...these were a few of the ones we found one day.

The last 5 minutes we were there....the boys finally caught a fish. A miracle indeed. We had already warned them not to get their hopes up--they are fishing in a lake and not a pond so fish are a little more spread out. But, to our surprise, they both caught a fish within a few seconds of each other.

That looks like SO much fun. (We'd tag along if there wasn't that pesky 3,000 miles between us). Great memories that your kids will always remember, too!

Where do you guys go camping? It looks like a beautiful spot! We had to postpone our usual fall camping trip this year because of Rebekah, but we are hopeful that she will be able to go in the spring. Isn't it so much fun?!
