We had one last hooray before summer partying was over for our family. After already having a beach trip planned from Wednesday to Sunday, we (being the last minute people we are) decided why not go camping for the first part of the week & make it a week long vacation. I had to still work, but since we camped nearby I didn't miss all that much.
So we packed up and went camping Saturday through Wednesday. Unfortunately we already had previous obligations (soccer practice, baseball party) during that time, but that didn't stop us. It was probably was not the greatest timing to go camping and made for a rather hectic week, but it was all in the name of family fun (and we succeeded).
Then Wednesday we brought the camper back home, dropped it off, repacked for the beach (did a little laundry in there somewhere), and got on the road for South Carolina. My parents & my sister and her husband were already there, so we joined them Wednesday late afternoon. They all headed home Friday & Saturday and we were able to stay thru Sunday night. The weather was beautiful and we loved our time away at the beach & pool. As always, it was hard to come home (especially knowing that school started the next week), but we dragged ourselves away. To console ourselves, we made a pit stop by Dunkin Donuts on the way home. And now we already counting down the days until our next trip. I'm thankful we have the opportunities to have so much time together as a family & I don't take that for granted.
