This past weekend was parade time. This was the first year that the kids have went to the parades and just enjoyed them without being on a float. I think they enjoyed their vacation from it a little too much. We started out with the Mebane parade on Friday night. It is usually a great one, but for some reason this year it was lacking for me. The band that we like the most wasn't in it this year. We went with friends & had a great time, but the parade itself wasn't all that. But we know how to have fun regardless.
Saturday morning good, old Graham had it's parade. Once we had our chairs laid out & our spot reserved, the kids were literally bouncing off the walls in a nearby alley with excitement. I will say that the Graham parade was much better than Mebane's in my opinion. (Although they both could of used a little extra something to help out--I guess my perception has changed since being a kid). A nearby store was handing out free hot chocolate, so the kids thought we had hit the jackpot. With FREE hot chocolate in hand, we all had a fun, chilly morning enjoying the sights & making memories.
