Our Thursday night was spent packing food in boxes for http://www.feedthehunger.org/. Go check them out. It's a great organization that is sending boxes of pre-packaged food to feed children in need.
Pureflow (my work) had a group of us volunteer to go to the Pack-A-Thon, and we were one of many teams preparing this special food. We had an assembly line going, and we got to be rather fast at it by the end of the night. If I heard right, all the food we packaged will be going to Kenya. They announced at the end of our "shift" that we packaged over 200 boxes of food. Each box contained 36 packets of food (and each packet had 6 servings in it). Not a bad nights work if I say so myself.
And not only do these children receive vitamin enriched food, but they will also hear the Gospel shared with them. I was very blessed & thankful to have been able to be a part and also grateful that the kids were able to help out too. Caleb was the bag weigher (it had to be within a certain range of weight), Micah & Trinity took turns helping me sealing the bags, and Zion (and Trin or Micah) helped count the bags to be boxed. It was good for them to get involved and feel like they can make a difference. They said they had fun, but I also hope they realize how spoiled we are just by not having to worry about our daily necessities. We definitely have no need to complain at all.
